High-yield numbers: adult respirations 12–20/min; nasal cannula commonly 1–6 L/min; simple mask at least 5 L/min; nonrebreather commonly 10–15 L/min; suction pass typically ≤10–15 sec; adult suction pressure commonly 100–150 mm Hg. Always use individualized orders and facility procedures.

This is a study aid, not a replacement for your school’s exact skill steps or patient-specific clinical orders. Oxygen therapy and suctioning are high-risk procedures: verify local policy and clinical supervision.
